Obituary of Alvin Emory DeBord

Alvin Emory DeBord, of Rogersville, born November 13, 1941, at the age of 72, went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 11, 2014. He attended several Baptist churches in the local area including: Cobb's Chapel, Hickory Cove, Grassy Springs, Bethlehem Baptist, Temple Baptist and currently a member of East Rogersville Baptist Church. He was saved at Cobb's Chapel and was baptized in 1950 by, Rev. Alfred Green. He attended Academy Wells School, Rock Hill School and was a 1960 graduate of Clinch High School. He worked at Lee Wayne Knitting Mill, Jefferson City Cabinet Company, Magnavox, International Printing and Pressmen Union and The Native American Consultant Group. He then began his own business, EJ Trucklines Inc. where he continued to work while driving his big rig until retiring on May 24, 2014. He married the love of his life, Juanita Woods, on September 8, 1962 at Sneedville Methodist Church. They returned to Rogersville in 1994 where they currently reside. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ulys T. and Ivadell DeBord; sister, Doris D. Price; brother, Truman U. DeBord; granddaughter, Leigha Amanda Manuel; great nephews, Julian Price and Justin R. Younce. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Juanita DeBord; children, Patsy Dell Price (Tom); Anita DeBord Manuel; grandchildren, Matthew Alvin Allison (Liliana) and Megan Adell Barnette (Trevor); brother, James E. DeBord (Annette); sister-in-law, Phyllis DeBord; special pet, Mr. President; several nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm on Sunday, July 13, 2014, at East Rogersville Baptist Church. Funeral services will follow with Rev. Steve Owenby and Rev. Doug Seymore officiating. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, July 14, 2014, at Highland Cemetery. Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill is proudly serving the DeBord family.
