Obituary of Nancy Lane Blalock

Nancy Margaret Lane Blalock - 84 of Hiltons went home to be with the Lord early Friday morning (June 13, 2014) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. She was a lifelong resident of Scott County Virginia. Nancy was a member of Hiltons Church of God and was a loving & wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a homemaker her entire life. She was preceded in death by her parents, Trigg & Hettie Davidson Lane; a brother Rev. William Lane, her sister, June Rose and several cousins. Survivors include her loving husband of 64 years on May 1st, Eugene (Diddle) Blalock; a daughter, Lynn Johnson & husband Carl; two grandchildren, Brian Johnson & his fiancé, Paula Teague and her son, Jaxson, Christy Goodall & husband Scott; four great grandchildren, Hailey Johnson, J.R. Goodall, Levi Goodall, Sawyer Goodall; sister, Ruby Johnson & husband Lionel; two brothers, Robert Lane & wife Lena, Harvey Lane & wife Vicki; along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4 pm to 7 pm Monday (June 16th, 2014) at Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City and friends may also call anytime at the residence. Services will follow at 7 pm in the chapel with Rev. Bob Ray Lane, Rev. Mellegan Herron and her brother Harvey Lane, officiating. Music will be provided by Wayne Smith. Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday (June 17th, 2014) at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City. Pallbearers will be Herman Lane, Mike Lane, Bobby Lane, Dirk Johnson, Anthony Johnson, Jimmy Blalock. Honorary Pallbearers will be Paul Lane and Grady Blalock. Those attending are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10 am to go in procession. Carter-Trent/ Scott County Funeral Home is serving the Blalock family.
