Obituary of Judy K. Johnson

Judy K. Stanton Johnson, 53, of Rogersville went to be with Jesus and her family on Friday, June 13, 2014 following a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was saved at the age of 17 and became Youth Leader at Huff Settlement Missionary Baptist Church for many years. She became a faithful member of Lone Missionary Baptist Church. Judy loved to fish and especially loved to sing gospel music. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend. She was preceded in death by her father, James Stanton and a brother, Barry Stanton Survivors include her husband Greg Johnson of the home; her children, Tony Bush & wife Kristin, Kasey Hutchinson & husband Benny; her step-children, Jeremiah Johnson & wife Alicia, Jessica Johnson, Joshua Johnson & wife Jennifer, James Johnson and Josiah Johnson; her mother, Myrtle Stanton,; mother-in-law, Dorothy McCoy & husband Wayne; nine grandchildren, Ben, Erika, Blake, Noah, Chance, Karen, Madison, Sarah and Aaron; sisters, Barbara Middleton & husband Tim, Sandy Peace & husband Danny; brothers, Roger Stanton & wife Patsy, Robert Stanton & wife Nancy, James Stanton & wife Yolanda, Randy Stanton, Barney Stanton & wife Rosa, Joe Stanton & wife Bonnie; along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4 pm to 6 pm Sunday (June 15th, 2014) at Lone Oak Missionary Baptist Church, 1102 Carters Valley Road, Surgoinsville. Funeral services will follow in the church at 6 pm with Evangelist Pat Hammond, Evangelist Mark Helton officiating. Music will be provided by Eric Lawson. A visitation will be held on Monday, (June 16, 2014) at Huff Settlement Missionary Baptist Church, Holmes Mill, Kentucky beginning at 2 pm. A funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday 11 am with Evangelist Bud Culbertson, officiating. Music will be provided by the Carver's. Burial will follow at Evart's Cemetery, Harlan, Kentucky. Pallbearers will be her brothers. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill is serving the Johnson family.
