Obituary of Audrey Wallis Salyer

Rogersville - Audrey Spears Salyer, 76 of Rogersville, went home to be with the Lord Friday morning, May 23, 2014 at Signature Health Care after a long illness. Born in Persia, TN, Audrey had lived several other places before returning to Hawkins County. She attended Keplar Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Dave Salyer; daughter, Anita Lynn Whittaker; parents, Charles Herbert Spears and Effie Bruner Spears. She is survived by her granddaughter, Martha Chapman and husband Jonathan of Abingdon, VA; sister, Allie Jennings of Rogersville; brother, Benny Spears of Rogersville; several nieces, nephews and sisters-in-laws. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Tuesday May 27, 2014 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, in Church Hill. Friends may also call anytime at the home of the sister, Allie Jennings. A funeral will follow at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Dean Sturgill officiating. Following the service, burial will be at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA.
