Obituary of Barbara Williams

BARBARA WILLIAMS Rogersville- Barbara Christian Williams, of Rogersville, went to be with her Heavenly Father early Tuesday morning (April 29, 2014) at Signature Health Care in Rogersville. She was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County. Barbara worked hard her entire life and had worked many different jobs. She especially loved being a grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, J.W. and Pauline Henry Christian; brothers, Billy Christian and Claude Christian, Sr.; a sister, Gladys Wilkerson; her best friend, Myrtle Housewright. Barbara Williams is survived by her sons, Gary Williams and wife, Teresa, Larry Williams, and Jimmy Williams; grandchildren, Jordan Williams, Brandon Digerness, Danovan Digerness, Shy Davis, Summer Davis, Emily McConnell, and Tori McConnell; great grandchildren, Jace Raines and Owen Raines; father of her children, James H. Williams; brothers, James Christian and wife, Sue, Tom Christian, Jackie Christian and wife, Jeanie; sisters, Tiny Hawkins and husband, Buddy, Cookie Stanley and husband, Freddy; a sister-in-law, Harriet Christian; special family, Billy Dunn, Sr., Donald Bledsoe and wife, Pamela, Kenneth Darnell and wife, Rhonda; Lavada Dunn, and Billy Dunn, Jr.; dear friends, Gertrude Sizemore and Kim Goins along with several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Thursday (May 1, 2014) from 5 pm to 7 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill. A funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. on Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Andy Sensabaugh, officiating. A graveside service will be conducted on Friday (May 2, 2014) at 10 a.m. at Church Hill Memory Gardens with Gary Williams, Larry Williams, Jimmy Williams, Claude Christian, Jr., Johnny Christian, and James Williams serving as pallbearers. Family and friends attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. to go in procession. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill is serving the Williams family.
