Obituary of Brian Reece Bloomer

BRIAN BLOOMER Church Hill- Brian Reece Bloomer, 41, of Church Hill, went to be with the Lord early Saturday morning (April 12, 2014) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center following a courageous battle with a brief illness. He was a lifelong resident of Church Hill and was a graduate of Volunteer Comprehensive High School in 1991. Brian's # 1 priority in life was spending time with his family and those he loved. He loved taking vacations with his family and visiting his favorite theme parks. Brian had a passion for playing the guitar. He enjoyed playing video games, listening to music, and going to the movies with his family and friends. He always made a valiant effort to make people happy even before himself. He was a wonderful and loving husband, father, son, and brother who will be missed by all who knew him. Brian was a dedicated employee with Pizza Plus for over 20 years before becoming a successful owner/operator of a Pizza Plus in Independence, VA. He built a very strong reputation in the community as being a very caring, loyal, and respected businessman. Brian attended Smyrna Baptist Church and was very faithful. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce Bloomer, Jr. Ada Lloyd Bloomer along with his maternal and paternal grandparents. Brian Bloomer is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Campbell Bloomer, whom was a part of his life for over 15 years; his daughters, Arianna Campbell and Kallie Bloomer; a brother, Bruce Bloomer III and wife, Amanda; nieces, Bethany Bloomer and Natalie Bloomer; mother-in-law, Phyllis Hartsock; brother-in-law, Joseph Hartsock; step-grandmother, Mary Bloomer; his precious schnauzer's, "Sadie" and "Caesar" along with several aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill or friends may also call anytime at the residence of Farley and Christine Meade, 1304 Hammond Ave. in Mount Carmel. A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Bryan Thurman and Pastor Tommy McClure, officiating. Music will be provided by Bethany Bloomer and Hands of Praise from Smyrna Baptist Church. A graveside service will follow the funeral at Mount Mitchell Church Cemetery with Jon Salley, Kevin Stacey, Darin Sensabaugh, B.J. Sword, Daniel Bloomer, Nathaniel Bloomer, Ray Blankenship, and Nick Ryans serving as pallbearers. Bruce Bloomer III will serve as honorary pallbearer. A special thank-you goes out to his dedicated staff at Pizza Plus in Independence; the Corporate Office of Pizza Plus along with the surrounding Pizza Plus owners for the support given during his illness. Also, a sincere thank-you goes to Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center SICU 3rd Floor Unit and Doctors, especially Susan Goodwin and Amy Partner for the special attention given to Brian.
