Obituary of David Cavin
Samuel (David) Cavin, 51, of Church Hill, passed away unexpectedly (April 2, 2014) at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center.
David worked for some years with construction and landscaping before his health prevented him from doing what he wanted. What didn't diminish, was his sense of humor, his ability to be a good friend; and his uncanny ability to strike up a conversation with even a stranger. He loved to cheer on the Tennessee Vols and fishing; but he truly loved his grandbabies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Lorraine Cavin; his brothers, Patrick Cavin and Steve Cavin; and his wife, Tina Rene Cavin
He is survived by his loving wife, Janis Cavin; daughter, Shannon Smith and husband Jerry ; son, David Allen Cavin; three stepchildren, Daniel Rowland and wife Sarah, April Blevins and husband Josh and Heather Wallen; four grandchildren, Hunter, Mason and Lily Smith and Breanna Way; six step grandchildren, Rosemary, Abigail and Dominic Rowland, Scarlett and Shawn Blevins and Payton Wallen; sister, Debbie Cavin; brother, Floyd Cavin; several nieces and nephews; and very special friends, Alan and Diane Marshall
The family will receive friends from 5 till 7pm Monday (April 7th, 2014) at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill. A funeral service will follow at 7pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Ron Cassidy officiating and a eulogy by his daughter, Shannon.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2pm Tuesday at McPheeter's Bend Cemetery.
