Obituary of Mable Lloyd
Mable Lloyd, 77 of Bluff City, went to be with the Lord at her her home with her family by her side. (April 1, 2014)
A native of Partridge, Ky she worked in her early years as a sodajerk right across the street from the gas station where her future husband, Clyde worked. They met, fell in love; and the rest is history. They moved to East Tennessee in the 1950's and have lived here ever since.
She attended Walnut Chapel Primitive Baptist Church.
Mable was a seamstress for several years at Parks Belk in Johnson City; but her greatest love and accomplishment was as a mother and a proud grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew Elkins and Velva Cornett; and her sister, Geraldine Waller
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 57 years, Clyde Lloyd; son, David Lloyd and wife Lori, Blountville; daughter, Renee' Miller and husband Billy, Bluff City; two grandchildren, Hannah Scheffer and husband Florian and Caitlin Hughes; one niece, Lisa Smith and nephew, Phillip Waller and wife Joyce
The family will receive friends from 5 till 7pm Friday (April 4, 2014) at Walnut Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. A funeral service will follow at 7pm with Elder Allen Hensley and Elder Billy Carrier officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 10am Saturday at Walnut Chapel Cemetery. Those who plan to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 9:45am. Pallbearers will be Anthony Huber, Billy Miller, Sid Grizzel, Billy Jack Johnson, David Osborne and Phillip Waller
