Obituary of Lavada Lee Sumner

Kingsport - Lavada Lee Sumner, 77 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 14, 2014 at Indian Path Medical Center following illness. Born in Alabama, Lavada had lived in Kingsport for most of her life. She was a member of Andrew Memorial Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Sumner and her son, Jeffery Allen Sumner; great-granddaughter, Courtney Hope Hawkins. Lavada is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Doran and husband Jerry; sons, Larry Sumner, Tim Sumner and wife Carolyn, Danny Sumner and wife Teresa and Todd Sumner and wife Angie; grandchildren, Heather, Josh, Chris, Crystal, Angel, Timothy, Brandy, Danielle, Brandon and Nikki; several step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Colin, Cody, Toby, Caylee, Aiden, Ron and Daniel; sisters, Jeanette and Bernice; very special niece, Ann Wambles A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Hermon UMC Cemetery with Rev. Clint Hensley officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:55 p.m. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport is serving the Sumner family.
