Obituary of Willie Hill

WILLIE (BILL) HILL Kingsport - Willie (Bill) Hill, 95, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Sunday afternoon, March 2, 2014 at his residence with his family by his side. He was born in St. Paul, VA and moved to Kingsport in 1947. Bill was a veteran of the United States Army having served in World War II. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys L. Hill (1990); parents, Shade Hill and Maggie Buchannan Hill; a daughter, Joyce Kendrick in January 2014; three sisters and two brothers. Bill Hill is survived by two sons, James (Jim) Hill of MI and Joe C. Hill of Kingsport, TN; his daughters, Joan M. Adkins and husband Henry, Janice F. Quillen and husband, Dennis, all of Kingsport; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 6, 2014 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport or friends may also call anytime at the residence. A funeral service will be conducted on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bishop Jack Forbes, officiating. Irene Conkin and Samantha Forbes will provide the music. A military graveside service will be conducted by the VFW Post #4933 on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Popular Grove Church Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Hill family.
