Obituary of Margaret Ruth Bowman

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith II Timothy 4:7 Margaret Ruth Bowman, 72, of Kingsport went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Wexford House, Kingsport. She was born and raised in Big Stone Gap, VA and had lived in Kingsport most of her life. Mrs. Bowman was a member of Freedom Baptist Church. She was a loving Mother to everyone who knew her. Mrs. Bowman was a born again Christian who loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She loved reading her Bible and enjoyed listening to gospel music. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Wexford House, 400 Wing, especially, Renee', Jessica and Wilma and also to Wellmont Hospice. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paskil Lester and Georgia Dixon Bowman; two sisters, Ella Rose Greer and Cathy Clark, a brother Donald Bowman and a sister in law, Cynthia Bowman. Surviving are her daughter, Teresa Hulse & husband Rev. Earl of Kingsport; son, William Paul Bowman & wife Amy of Kingsport; three grandchildren, Earl Hulse III, William Jason Hulse, and Brandon Paul Bowman; three great-great grandchildren, Richard Chitwood, Mariah Hulse and Kailey Hulse; three sisters, Sue Cloud & husband Ken of Falls Church, VA, Nancy Whitaker & husband Richard of Hallie, KY and Brenda Walker, & husband David of Kingsport; three brothers, Carlyle Bowman & wife Ann of Kingsport, Ronald Bowman of Gray and John Bowman & wife Carol of Kingsport; a special niece, Cathy Ann Goodson and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 -7 pm Monday, January 27, 2014 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport. Funeral services will follow at 7 pm in the funeral chapel with Pastor Andy Sensabaugh and Pastor Vern Hall officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1 pm Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at the East Lawn Memorial Park, Kingsport. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Family and friends are asked to meet at cemetery at 12:50 pm. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the family of Margaret Ruth Bowman.
