Obituary of Arnold S. Vaughan

Arnold S. Vaughan, 82, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday afternoon, January 8, 2014 at the Wexford House after a lengthy illness. He was born in Kingsport and had lived here all his life. Mr. Vaughan retired from Eastman Kodak after 42 years of service as a Chemical Engineer. He was an active member of the Lions Club for many years and was a member of the First Baptist Church. In his later years he enjoyed attending Sunrise Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Grace Baker Vaughan. Arnold is survived by his wife, Nita Vaughan of 39 years; six children, Gary Vaughan and wife Jeri of Utah, Linda Johns and husband Rolf of Utah, Darryl Vaughan and wife Barbara of Virginia, Angela McCarter and husband Mike of Chattanooga, Chuck Vaughan of Kingsport, Holly Davis and husband Phil of Kingsport; sister, Alynne Burns of South Carolina; brothers, Kenneth Vaughan of Kansas, Larry Vaughan and wife, Marilyn of Virginia, and Michael Vaughan and wife Debbie of Kingsport; twenty-two grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm on Saturday (January 11, 2014) at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga St., Kingsport or friends may also call anytime at the home of his brother, Michael Vaughan, 1009 Meadow Lane, Kingport. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:30 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Kelly Dykes officiating. Music will be provided by family and friends. An entombment service will follow in the Oak Hill Memorial Park Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Carter-Trent Funeral Home downtown Kingsport is serving the Vaughan family.
