Obituary of Bobby L. Mullins
Kingsport - Bobby L. Mullins, 78 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness. Born in Jenkins, Kentucky, Bobby had lived in Kingsport for most of his life and was retired from Holston Defense and was a longtime owner and operator East Stone Drive Gulf. He was a member of Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Violeta Salyers Mullins; daughter, Bonnie Kay Melton; grandson, Scott Melton; brother, Billy Ray Mullins.
Bobby is survived by his wife of 57 years, Billie Pritchard Mullins; daughter, Vickie McKinney and husband Mike "Fuji" McKinney; son-in-law, Michael Melton; grandson, Eric Melton and wife Kim; great-granddaughters, Whitney Ramey-Melton and Makenzie Woods; brother, Kenneth Mullins and wife Charlotte; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, December 23, 2013 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. Friends may also call anytime at the residence.
A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Bob Lewis and Pastor Joe Hill officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m.
