Obituary of Junior Vaughn

William M. "Jr" Vaughn Jr., 84 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord, December 10, 2013 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport. He was a lifelong resident of Sullivan County (Kingsport). He was retired from Kingsport Electric after over 20 years of service and was a faithful member of Temple Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, William M. Vaughn Sr. and Minnie Johnson Vaughn; four sisters, Georgia Lawson, Mae Perry; an infant, Bonnie Vaughn and Juanita Foulk; three brothers, Willard Vaughn, Frank "Bill" Vaughn and John Vaughn. Survivors include his loving wife of over 62 1/2 years, Maudie Hartsock Vaughn of the home; three daughters, Denise Doty & husband Al of Kingsport, Debra Doty & husband Tim of Kingsport and Donna Dixon & husband Butch of Hartselle, AL; son, Dennis Vaughn of Kingsport; thirteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; sister, Margaret Jones & husband Kenneth of Knoxville; along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 11 - 1 pm Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Temple Baptist Church, 2200 Memorial Court, Kingsport. A funeral service will be at 1 pm in the church with Pastor Brian Schuler, officiating. A eulogy will be given by his grandson, Rev. Jason Doty. Music will be provided by Polly Lewis and Steve and Lee Hall. Entombment services will follow at Oak Hill Mausoleum, Kingsport. Chris Isenberg, Josh Doty, Kevin Vaughn, Rev. Jason Doty, Jon Doty, Brandon McNutt will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Darrell Hughes, Jack Upchurch, Bob Baker, Sam Odom, Bill Bowen. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Temple Baptist Church Building Fund, 2200 Memorial Court, Kingsport, TN 37662 The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. J. Paul Singh & staff, Dr. Chris Neglia and Dr. Rahul Sakhuja, Dr. Jeff Kappa and the doctors and staff of CICU for their special care of Mr. Vaughn.
