Obituary of John Moneyhun

John "Dick" Moneyhun, 72, of Blountville, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Bristol Regional Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born in Afton, TN and had lived in the Kingsport area most of his life. John graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School, class of 1959, and was a supporter of the D-B football program. He was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church where he enjoyed the Men's Sunday School Class. As a former resident of Greystone Healthcare, John always brought joy and laughter to those around him and loved the holiday celebrations. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Greystone Healthcare for their loving care. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Barbara Rankin Moneyhun and his brother in law, Winfred Keith. Surviving are his devoted sister, Barbara Keith of Kingsport; nephew Joey Keith and wife, Patti; niece, Patricia Wall and husband, Kevin; four great nieces and several cousins. The family will receive friends from 1 - 2 pm Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga St., Kingsport. A funeral will be conducted at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Greg Burton officiating. Music will be provided by Arvey Mason, Marty Taylor and Wayne Bledsoe. A graveside will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be nephews and cousins. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Colonial Heights Baptist Church Men's Sunday School Class. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the family of John "Dick" Moneyhun.
