Obituary of Onza Earl Kilgore

Nickelsville - Onza Earl Kilgore, 92 of Nickelsville, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Holston Valley Medical Center following a brief illness. He was a lifelong resident of Scott County, a veteran of WWII serving in the U. S. Army and a retired farmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carmie and Ethel Harris Kilgore and a sister, Flo Kilgore Boyd. Onza is survived by his cousin, Teddy Kilgore; numerous other cousins and his caregiver, Brenda Marshall. The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, November 23, 2013 at Scott County Funeral Home in Weber City, VA. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Brandon Berg officiating. Music will be provided by Nickelsville United Methodist Church Choir. A military graveside service will follow at Addington Frame Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with the American Legion Post #3/265 and the VA National Guard conducting the rites.
