Obituary of Charles Crigger

Charles (Tommy) Crigger, was born on June 7, 1946 in Hawkins County, Tennessee and passed away after a brief illness on October 19, 2013 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. He was a member of Mt Vernon Independent Missionary Baptist Church. He retired from the Kingsport Foundry after 32 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Kate Crigger; sisters, Lena Grace Gulley and Roberta (Bert) Barrett; two brothers, Johnny Crigger and Pierce (Preacher) Crigger; and his father and mother-in-law, John & Mildred Wright. Survivors include by his loving wife, Henrietta Crigger; his children, Chuck Crigger & wife, Joanie, Julie Williams & husband David, John Crigger & Nadine Arnold and Priscilla Salisbury & husband David.; his very special grandchildren, Alicia Crigger, Austin Gray (Crigger) Dustin Williams "his buddy" and Faith Salisbury "his baby doll"; sisters, Mandy Duncan, Mary Calton and Glad Goins; brother, Lloyd Crigger; along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 pm on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 1115 Hwy 11W, Church Hill or friends may drop by anytime at his home of his sister, Mandy Duncan. A funeral service will follow in the chapel with Pastor Billy Linkous, officiating. Music will be provided by Joanie Crigger (daughter-in-law of Tommy), Kathy, Mark, Kathy and members of the church. Graveside services will be held at 11:30 am on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Bethel Cemetery, Surgoinsville. Pallbearers will be members of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. The family would like to extend special thanks to his niece, Edith Williams, who made sure his sisters were there and kissed him as he passed; to the Mt Vernon Church and to all the Doctors and Nurses in ICU and Wilcox Hall, especially Danny and Jessica in the ICU. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill is serving the Crigger family.
