Obituary of Stella Carter Campbell

Stella Carter Campbell, 89 of Kingsport entered her Heavenly home Friday afternoon, October 18, 2013 at The Wexford House, Kingsport. Stella was a loving and dedicated mother and grandmother. She was a member of New Beginnings Fellowship Church and had been employed at the Desta Kup Restaurant for 30 years. She was born October 8, 1924 the daughter of the late Noah and Cora Lee (Canter) Carter. Also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Jackson Campbell; one sister, Ida Rogers; three brothers, Thomas Rutledge, Alfred Carter, James Carter. Survivors include her son, Robert (Bob) Campbell and wife, Thurma of Kingsport; Daughters, Connie C. Slaght and husband, Richard of Mt. Carmel, Nancy Miller and husband, Dennis of Kingsport. Two grandchildren, Mark Morelock and wife, Jeni, Church Hill, Justin Lynn Miller, Kingsport, Three great-grandchildren, Sydney Morelock, Julianne Morelock, Cohen Lynn Miller. Sister: Gladys Stewart, Kingsport. Several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 12-1 pm on Monday, October 21, 2013 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport. Funeral services will be at 1 pm in the chapel conducted by her grandson, Mark Morelock. Music will be provided by Trista Ragsdale. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park, Kingsport. Pallbearers will be her family and friends. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Campbell family.
