Obituary of Eugene E. Bear

Eugene "Hump Hammer" Bear Kingsport - Eugene Elijah Bear, 62, of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday morning, September 24, 2013 of injuries sustained in an accident. Eugene was born in Kingsport and had lived here all his life. He attended New Hope Evangelical Presbyterian Church (Lynn Garden.) He enjoyed riding his bike, collecting movies and visiting his friends. Eugene was a loving brother. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elijah & Pinkie Ella Greer Bear, sisters, Debbie Bear and Dorothy Bear Johnson and a niece Kelly Palmer. Surviving are his sisters, Ola Bear, Sally Bear Barnes, Ruthie Bear Trinkle, Rita Bear Palmer all of Kingsport and Sylvia Bear Ritchie of Elizabethton; brothers, Rickie Bear and Clayton Bear both of Kingsport ; brother in law, Ronnie Johnson of Kingsport and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 pm Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga St., Kingsport. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Richard Willis officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 pm Sunday September 29, 2013 at Old Kingsport Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Clayton Bear, Ricky Bear, Elvis Bear, Steven Bear, Buddy Bear and Norma Bear. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:50 pm. Carter-Trent Funeral Home is serving the family of Eugene Bear.
