Obituary of Nellie J. Babb

Kingsport - Nellie J. Babb, 73 of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord early Tuesday morning September 17, 2013 at Brookhaven Manor following a lengthy illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orbin Babb (2001); parents, James and Dinah Herron Davis; baby sister, Shirley Davis; two brothers, Paul Davis and Hershel Davidson; sister-in-law, Anna Lee Flanary (Sept. 8, 2013). She is survived by her daughters, Donna Alley and husband Calvin of Church Hill, and Tammie Burrell and husband, Randy of Kingsport; grandsons who were like sons, Thomas Luster of Kingsport and Trae Stillwell and wife Makayla of Kingsport; sister, Connie Clipse and husband Conrad of Kingsport; along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 pm to 7 pm on Wednesday September 18, 2013 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill. Friends may also call anytime at the residence of Zinda Shelton, 254 Asheville, Mt. Carmel, TN. A service will follow at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Todd Jennings officiating. Music will be provided by Wendy Aistrop, Calvin Alley and Robin Woodcock. A private graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Special thank you goes out to Taylor Bradshaw, Carolyn Thompson and Danielle Shanks for the special care given during her illness. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill is serving the Babb family.
