Obituary of Kenneth Harrell

Kenneth Harrell Kingsport - Charles Kenneth Harrell, 81, of Kingsport passed away on Wednesday August 28, 2013 at Bristol Hospice House following a lengthy illness. Born in Hawkins County, TN, and lived in Kingsport most of his life. He was retired from Holliston Mills after over 39 years of service. He was a member of Teamsters Union #549 and Tri State Antique Power Association. He was a member of Sunnyside Baptist Church. He loved to farm and especially enjoyed his antique Tractors. He was preceded in death by his parents Drew Harrell and Mintie Kenner Harrell; two brothers, G.M. Harrell and wife, Jean and Fred Harrell and wife, Dorothy; sister-in-law, Vola Harrell; brother-in-law, James Elkins. He is survived by his wife, Frances Waterman Harrell of the home; one son, Charles Harrell and wife Phyllis of Madisonville, TN; one daughter, Annie Harrell of Kingsport; four grandchildren, Kimberly Smith, Hannah Harrell, Haley Harrell and Matthew Harrell; two sisters, Norma Brickey, of Kingsport and Thelma Elkins of Clarkston, MI; two brothers, Virgil Harrell and wife, Brenda of Kingsport and Troy Harrell and wife, Merle of Rogersville; brother-in-law, Robert Waterman and wife Carlene of Kingsport; along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 11 am to 1 pm on Saturday August 31, 2013 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street. A service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Jack Parrott and Brother Carroll Light officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Brian Harrell, Henry Harrell, Mark Harrell, Neal Waterman, Edward Waterman, Elmo Mathews, Sammy King, David King, and Matthew Harrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Ed Cleek, Sam McGhee, Eddie King, and Wilbur Duncan. The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Daniel Carroll, Oncology department at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center, Wellmont Hospice, Fresenius Dialysis Center in Kingsport, and all friends, neighbors and family for the special care given during his illness.
