Obituary of Jeffrey A. Jackson

Jeffrey A. Jackson, 61, of Gray went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at the Life Care Center of Gray after an extended illness. He was born in Kingsport and had lived in this area all of his life. Jeffrey was a member of Pleasant View Baptist Church, Kingsport. He enjoyed listening to gospel music and preaching on the radio. He was preceded in death by his parents, John & Virgie Thacker Jackson; and his aunts, Evelyn Jackson, Margaret Hensley and Ruby Bledsoe. Surviving are his two brothers Phillip Jackson of Bristol, VA and Gordon Jackson; one niece, two nephews and two aunts, Geneva Wyatt of Gray and Berna Jackson of Gray; along with a host of cousins. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at East Lawn Memorial Park with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 12:50 pm. A Celebration of Life service will be held from 4:00 - 6:00 pm on Saturday at Pleasant View Baptist Church, 2101 Stadium Drive, Kingsport with Pastor Wayne Baker officiating. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff of Life Care Center of Gray for their love, compassion and for taking such good care off Jeffrey.
