Obituary of Samuel Wallace Musick

Samuel Musick Gate City - Samuel Wallace Musick, 54 of Gate City, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Born in Kingsport, Samuel had lived his entire life in Scott County. He was employed at Eastman Chemical Company for 36 years where he worked in the Acetate Fibers Division. He was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed spending time with his girls in his spare time. He was preceded in death by his parents. Herbert and Daphene France Musick; and his brother, Allen Musick. Samuel is survived by his wife of 34 years, Jorita Musick; his daughter, Stasha McMurray and husband Matthew; his granddaughters, Mattie and Piper McMurray all of Gate City; sisters, Anetia Hughes and husband Eric of Piney Flats and Sonia Pendleton and husband Buddy of Gate City; several nieces and nephews; a very special sister-in-law, Wilma Patrick; special friends, Andre Wallen and Jeff Bledsoe; and his two Yorkies, Daisy and Sophie. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Scott County Funeral Home, 2060 Hwy 23N, Weber City, VA. Friends may also call anytime at the home of his sister-in-law, Wilma Patrick. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mark Kilbourne, Evangelist Willie Duffy and Teddy Pendleton officiating. Music will be provided by Megan Gardner. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Brandon Moore, Dr. Audry Campbell-Moore, Dr. Byron May and his staff, Dr. Edwin McElroy, Dr. W.
