Obituary of Katie Louemma Berry

Katie Louemma Berry, 78, of Duffield went to be with the Lord, Sunday, August 4, 2013 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in the Starnes' Bluff Community she was a member of Starnes' Bluff United Methodist Church. Katie was an avid gardener who admired nature. She loved to cook, quilt, crochet and embroidery. Katie was looked to by many for advice and encouragement even in her illness. She also was an active member in the Fairview Ruritan #2, Farm Bureau Ladies Auxillary and Fairview Community Center. Katie loved her church and family. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lavie McNew; sisters, Ruby Hill and Gladys Pierson; brother, Ed McNew and great grandson, Harper Wallace Feagins She is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, O.E. "Junior" Berry Jr; daughter, Patricia Feagins and fiancée Danny Chapman; adored granddaughters and the loves of her life, Lindsay Nicole Feagins and Bethany Dawn Feagins; brother, Fred McNew and a host of special nieces and nephews and friends. The family will receive friends from 12-2pm Tuesday at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 2pm Tuesday with Rev. T.J. Hood and Rev. Mike Ervin officiating. Music will be provided by the Kaylor's Chapel Quartet and Aubra Hill. Burial will follow in Holston View Cemetery. Her nephews and friends will be pallbearers. The family would like to express a special thank you to all her caregivers during her illness. Those desiring may make memorials to the charity of one's choice in Katie's memory.
