Obituary of Dorothy Dye

Mary Dorothy Harrell Dye, 95 of Kingsport went home to be with the Lord late Saturday evening, July 27, 2013 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. She was born in Hawkins County (Cloude Creek) and made her home in Kingsport in the early 1940's. She was a member of West View Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Dye in 1981; her parents, Charlie K. and Amanda Brooks Harrell. Survivors include her sons, Brad Dye and Craig Dye & wife Rhenda, all of Kingsport; four grandchildren, Ariel, Haley, Ivy & husband Tal and Sophie; three great grandchildren, Creed, Dayne and Colton; two brothers, Joe Harrell and John Harrell; two sisters, Toopie Jenkins, Sue Clowers; along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 11 - 1 pm on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, downtown Kingsport. Funeral services will begin at 1 pm in the chapel with Pastor Mike Stout, officiating. Entombment services will follow at Oak Hill Mausoleum, Kingsport. Pallbearers will be her nephews and family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the charity of your choice. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Dye family.
