Obituary of Ruby Depew

Ruby W. Depew, 82, of Kingsport earned her reward to Heaven Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. She was "Momma Ruby" to many. Ruby was a member of Clayhill Freewill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by parents, George and Mary (Ison) Way; son, Jerome Conard Depew and Brother, Dirl Way. Survivors include her daughters, Connie Jo Sims and husband, Mark of Arizona, Sandra K. Carter and husband, Sonny of Kentucky; son, George W. Depew and wife, Lisa of Kingsport; ten grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sisters, Shirley Ratliff & husband James of Surgoinsville and Jean Smith & husband Chet of Ohio; along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 pm to 7 pm on Tuesday, July 16, 2012 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport with funeral services following at 7 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Scottie Sexton, officiating. Graveside services will be held at 10 am on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at Tri-Cities Memory Gardens, Blountville, TN. Family and friends who wish to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 9:55 am. Pallbearers will be relations and friends. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Depew family.
