Obituary of Lois Bailey Jones

Lois Bailey Jones, 78 of Kingsport went to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday morning, July 13, 2013 at her residence. Born in Cranberry, West Virginia, she lived in Kingsport since 1947. She was retired from Hills Department Store after 17 years of service. Lois loved to crochet and enjoyed reading. Mrs. Jones was an active member of Family Life Center in Colonial Heights. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Dykes; two brothers and two sisters; her second husband in 2000, Herbert H. Jones; a granddaughter in 2012, Carla Knuth Tanner. Survivors include her four daughters, Mrs. Sherry Knuth and husband, Richard (Kingsport, TN), Mrs. Gloria (Jeanie) Davidson and husband, Robert (Blountville, TN), Mrs. Mary Bear and husband, James (Kingsport,TN), Mrs. Cynthia (Cindy) Humphrey and husband, Bob (Raleigh, NC); three sisters, Mrs. Ann Frazier and husband, Bill (Kingsport, TN), Mrs. Jean Waldron and husband, Joel (Kingsport, TN), Mrs. Linda Hicks and husband, Jim (Kingsport, TN); three brothers, Robert M. (Pete) Bailey and wife, Margaurite, Roger D. (Mike) Bailey and wife, Faye, Rodney D. (Ike) Bailey and wife, Ruby (all of Kingsport); six grandchildren, Angela Knuth Estep and husband, Tom, Fred Knuth and wife, Robyn, Richard Knuth, Jessica Arnold Jenkins and husband, Lance, Rebecca A. Holliman, and Anthony R. Holliman; 11 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 pm Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga St., Kingsport, TN. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at 1:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Mark Willis officiating. Music will be provided by the Benton Family. A graveside service will follow the funeral service on Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at East Lawn Memorial Park, Kingsport with family and friends serving as pallbearers. A special thank-you goes out to Amedisys Hospice (Kris, Mike, Patti, , Becky, and Linda) and to Bill Hudson and wife, Lynn along with the entire residents of Forest Ridge Manor in Kingsport for the special care given to Lois Jones. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Amedisys Hospice, 200 Professional Park Private Drive, Kingsport, TN 37663. Carter-Trent Funeral Home downtown Kingsport is serving the Lois Jones family.
