Obituary of R.B. Hensley

R.B. Hensley, 86, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord 12:21 pm on Friday May 24, 2013 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. He was born in Scott County, VA and lived most of his life in Kingsport. He attended Pilgrim's Chapel Independent Church. He was a retired employee of Slaughter Construction Company where was a foreman and heavy equipment operator. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Dallie Thacker Hensley; wife, Zenda (Hutchins) Hensley; stepson, Donald Wayne Bragg; brother, Hansel Hensley. He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Kay Huffman and husband, Roy J. Huffman of Kingsport; two grandsons, Brandon Huffman of Kingsport and David Hensley and wife, Tammy of Kingsport; two great grandsons, Zak Lane and David Hensley of Kingsport; along with several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. The family will receive friends from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport. A funeral will be held at 1:30 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Joel Smith officiating. Graveside services will follow at Oak Hill Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Dwayne Hensley, Jim Hensley, Scott Carver, Bobby Smith, Ammon Huffman, Gary Lawson, Phil Hicks and Stanley Carver. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Hensley family.
