Obituary of David Sevier Lampkins

David S. Lampkins, 81, of Kingsport, passed away Tuesday evening, May 7, 2013 at Wellmont Holston Valley Hospital after a short illness. He was born in Kingsport and had lived here all his life. David retired from Oak Hill Funeral Home and Cemetery, having worked thirty-three years in the cemetery and then working twenty years in the funeral home; retiring after 53 years of service He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Pearl Overbey Lampkins and a brother, Thomas Lampkins. Surviving are his loving wife of 46 years, Irene L. Lampkins of the home; two sons, Chris Lampkins and Roger Lampkins both of Kingsport; grandson, Evan Hunter; sister, Georgia Russell of Kingsport and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services were conducted Friday afternoon, May 10, 2013 at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Rev. Joe W. Byrd officiating. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Quickway Printing.
