Fannie was always a familiar face at Salem Church growing up. I always loved seeing her at Central Heights Elementary school. I felt like a VIP because Jean Wilson, Fay, and Fannie were looking out for us. It took me years to figure out how my mother knew when I got home if I had not eaten my vegetables from lunch. Fannie was her secret spy who made a mental note of these things :-) She will be very much missed. I miss so many of our friends from the little white church on the hill. I always think heaven will be like coming home...walk in the gates and see Margaret and Ernie, Roy and Nancy, Fannie and Archie, Margaret and Claude, Ms Sara, Major and Naomi, Walmer Novella and Lisa, Mina and Frank, Billy Feathers, Nanny Beulah, Pappaw Erskine, and my sweet Dad. We live in a beautiful place here and I have my memories but every time I think of heaven and all the friends we've lost "I'm kind of homesick..."
