Dear Family of Zelda Virts, I was a church and artist friend of Zelda's. We talked at the Women's Circle in Shepherdstown Presbyterian Church and sometimes got together to talk art and paint as artists do. She loved art and painting, and we studied and critiqued some of each other's paintings. Her home was a memorable work of art that she lovingly tended. She was a very energetic, forthright, and direct person and must have blessed many children and parents throughout her career as a teacher and principal.
You are in my thoughts and prayers, and I wish you comfort and blessings. Sincerely, Marian Buckner

My condolences to the family of Mrs. Virts. She was the Vice Principal when I worked at Brunswick Elementary School. She also got me started on using Mary Kay Products because of seeing her beauty and youthfulness. May God strengthen and comfort you.

Gene and Brent....
I know your Mom's death was not a surprise, and hopefully you are comforted by the fact that she is now at peace, but I know it is still intensely painful to lose someone that you have been so close to for all these years. I didn't know your mom when she was teaching, but I can only imagine how kind yet disciplined she must have been. I know she kept me on my toes in our meetings and though always considerate, she made her thoughts known. Like my own mom, your mom will be in my stable of fond memories for those who lived life fully and with consideration for those they touched.

I am very sorry to hear of Mrs. Virts' passing. She was my first grade teacher at Brunswick Elementary School in 1964-65. Mrs. Virts instilled in me a love of reading. She was a wonderful, kind, and loving teacher. I think of her often and tell my children and grandchildren about her.
